“Things don’t always look as they seem. Some stars, for example, look like bright pinholes, but when you get them pegged under a microscope you find you’re looking at a globular cluster – a million stars that to us, presents as a single entity. On a less dramatic note there are triplets, like Alpha Centauri, which up close turns out to be a double star and a red dwarf in close proximity”. My sister’s keeper – Jodi Picoult

My review
rating: 5 of 5 stars
It’s true and often encountered. Things aren’t always as they seem to be. They don’t even look like we might imagine them in the first place, first glance. Some events even are not to be judged unless the reasons behind them are known. However, people do hurry, people do like to make decisions and draw observations hastily. Time is scarce, love is blind.
I’ve been reading this book and found myself struggling to imagine myself in one of the character’s shoes. Unless you read the book, you cannot imagine the complexity of the plot and moral issues. It makes you stop and think, even wonder. Yet things do happen like that too, because the world is not perfect. Captivating, sad, enthralling, deliberately disturbing at times, decisions, decisions and what ifs.

I gave it a 5 on 5 as well, and spent time trying to identify with the characters. I had to try getting into Anna’s head for most of the book, because I just couldn’t figure out what was instigating her… ’til she said the words out aloud.
Thanks for the review.
